1.
Freewill is a myth, even for the privileged. Our freewill, lies in the fight for those privileges.

2.
The architecture of the healthcare and support facilities is as important as that of the shelters.

3.
Education facilities for the children of the refugee communities should be redesigned with adequate tools of growth.

4.
The impact should result in growing new typologies of self-sufficient communities. The architects’ design shall give reason to these new ways irrespective of the existing, established, outdated systems and their respective ideologies.

5.
A building is permanent, while the people are temporary.

INTRODUCTION
“Altruism is a moral practise of concern for the happiness of other human beings and animals.”

The Altruistic Manifesto is a simple understanding, having a selfless view on the current issues of the global crises. This manifesto is a part to an undefined whole. It is never going to be complete without further iterations from diverse groups, varied ideologies, and a common altruistic thought and approach. In trying to understand Altruism as a practise, I personally had to put myself as a regular human being before being an architect. The age we live in, the present situation of the pandemic, only worsened our already critical conditions of the growing world and depleting resources. As architects working on the new world crises issues, it is important to bring forth new ideas related to the increasing numbers of the refugee camps.

“If we are strong enough to keep ourselves going forward in every type of condition, it’s about time we share the knowledge in commons to help everyone be strong and keep moving forward.”

THE IDEA
Architecture for refugees is a dragon’s den, there is something precious for which the dragon stands guard. the ideals of the famous American architect R. Buckminster Fuller though quoted decades ago, still make sense when considering the problems of the refugees. I have used many of his quotes to guide writing this altruistic manifesto and making sense of the approach taken to produce suitable solutions for the crisis problems. As architects, it is mandatory to always keep updating our ways of thinking with the changing times.

“Those who play with the devil's toys will be brought by degrees to wield his sword.” ~ R. Buckminster Fuller

The problem with the refugees is always a hot topic, their numbers keep rising and their order keeps disrupting. It is important not to repeat the mistakes of the past. There area many architects with successful works related to the refugee and many who have lost their way through the process, but none have yet occurred to a resolve for the problem at hand. Maybe there is not a resolve to the issue, but that only seem to increase the number of unorganised settlements. So, a reinterpretation of the situation, may provide the right reason and a path to the solution.

“We are called to be architects of the future, not its victims.” ~ R. Buckminster Fuller
